Remember that old enamel cup your grandmother would drink her morning and night-time tea from? Well it’s back. Just like copper, enamel is making a resurgence in kitchenware particularly with dinnerware and storage.
One thing is for sure, enamel is hardy and long-lasting. For industry, enamel’s resistance to corrosion is a key feature. In addition, ceramic enamel is a key component in non-stick cookware.
The modern aesthetic for enamel in houseware design and for decorative pieces is toward more colour, more patterns and generally new looks for a metal we’ve known and used as children.
